A soft orangy treat
This orange‑scented cake is a simple, feel‑good treat. Freshly squeezed orange juice brings natural flavor, and it is good for snacking, sharing, or enjoying alongside a warm drink. With minimal prep, it’s the kind of recipe you can do for a birthday party, a dinner dessert or to have for breakfast.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 250 gr flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 100 gr sugar
- 50 gr sunflower oil
- 2 packets vanilla sugar
- 3 oranges
Process:
- Prepare the orange juice: Cut 2 oranges in half. Squeeze out the juice and set it aside. From the remaining half. Cut the remaining orange in thin slices. Image 2
- Whisk the base: In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until light and smooth. Image 3
- Add the oil: Pour in the sunflower oil and mix gently.
- Incorporate dry ingredients: Add the flour, baking powder, and vanilla sugar. Mix until just combined. Image 4
- Add the orange juice: Pour in the freshly squeezed juice and stir until the batter is even.
- Decorate: Pour the batter into a greased pan and gently place the orange slice on top.
