Finger food for aperitivo

This recipe can be used to prepare finger food for a dinner or an aperitivo. You do not need many ingredients and only needs 20 min in the oven plus 5 minutes of preparing time.


Ingredients (for 15 - 18 rolls)

  • 1 Puff pastry roll (either rectangular or circular - I used 32cm diameter)
  • 100 gr tomato sauce
  • 50 gr shredded cheese (I used mozzarella)

Process:

  1. Start by unrolling the puff pastry roll on a rectangular baking tray.
  2. Open the tomato sauce and with a spoon spread it on the pastry. Make sure to leave 2 cm all around without cheese.
  3. Spread the cheese on top of the tomato sauce.
  4. Now you can start rolling the dough using the long side of shape. Make sure that no ingredients fall out.
  5. If you like, top with some sesame seeds, and then proceed by cutting the roll into slices between 1.5 and 2 cm large with the help of dental floss.
  6. Bake for 20 min at 180°C with ventilated oven.
  7. Let the roll cool down for 5 minutes and then it is ready to be served.

Tips:

  • With one puff pastry dough, you can do up to 18 rolls of 2 cm thickness.
