Red Lentils chips

A High-Protein, Gluten-Free Snack

These crispy lentil bites are a plant-based treat, perfect as a savory snack or a crunchy side. With just a handful of ingredients and minimal prep, they are perfect for an apero or an afternoon snack. Enjoy them with your favorite sauce on the side.

Ingredients

  • 105 gr of dried red lentils (1/2 cup)
  • 237 gr water (1 cup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

Process:

  1. Soak red lentils in a cup of water for 2–3 hour. Image 1

  4. Add cumin, paprika, salt, and a splash of reserved soaking water.
  5. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  6. Preheat oven to 180°C (356°F).
  7. Spread the lentil mixture evenly on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.Image 3
  8. Bake for 15 minutes until set.
  9. Remove from oven and cut into bite-sized pieces. I recommend a diagonal cut to get a nice shape.
  10. Return to oven and bake for another 10 minutes until crispy. You can serve them with home made guacamole or a fresh herbs yogurt sauce. Image 4
