Sunflower seeds cookies

A low calories cookies

A low calories cookies, if you like sunflower seeds. As said in a precedent post, Italians love biscuits and as an Italian girl, I like trying new types of biscuits. These sunflower seeds are not really common, but they are low in calories and really good as a snack when you have guests.

Ingredients:

  • 250 gr sunflowers seeds
  • 50 gr oat meal (either the entire cereal or the mashed one)
  • 100 gr of sugar
  • 1 egg (2 it is small)

Process:

  1. Put the sunflower seeds in a bowl and mix it together with the oat.
  2. Add the sugar in the bowl and mix it together.
  3. Add one egg (if it is small), otherwise add two. Do not worry if the mixture seems not to hold together. The egg will be strong enough to make the sunflower seeds to stick together. Image 1
  4. Now you need to form the cookies. Take one table spoon of mixture and put it on a baking tray. Go on until all the mixture is positioned in the baking tray.
  5. Bake in the oven for 15/20 min at 150°C until they become golden color. Image 2

Variants:

  • You can add almonds in the mixture described in the 1 phase of the process, if you like them. Alternatively, you can add whatever other ingredient you like. Be aware of not putting to much ingredients other wise the egg will not hold everything together.
